Questions people ask before signing up
- Do you take a cut of my payments?
- On Solo and Studio, no: you pay Stripe's standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢ for cards, 0.8% capped at $5 for ACH) and nothing else. On the Free plan we add a 1% platform fee on each payment, which is how we keep the Free plan free.
- What counts as an active client?
- A client with an unpaid invoice or an invoice sent in the last 90 days. Archived clients don't count, and you can archive and restore them whenever you like.
- Can I pay yearly?
- Yes. Paying yearly gets you two months free: Solo is $120 a year and Studio is $220 a year.
- What happens when my trial ends?
- If you haven't added a card, your account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted, and invoices you've already sent keep working.
- Is there a plan for bigger teams?
- Not at the moment. Tallyroot is built for one or two people. If you have three or more, you'll be happier with a tool built for a finance team.
